Dr. George Tucker is a retired physics and astronomy professor from the US, as well as a research collaborator with NASA, and was the driving force behind creating Africa’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, where he has been a regular visiting astronomer for more than 15 years. He first came to us as a lauded recommendation from Alastair Kilpin, our beloved Guide Trainer, when it became clear our Guiding Team was eager to learn more about the night sky. As expected, the guides ate up everything George had to teach them, and we hope this too becomes an annual training!
