Whether it’s an intimate ceremony with just the two of you, or a small gathering of close loved ones, every celebration here is deeply personal and conducted in harmony with the wild.

Your Dream Wedding in Amboseli

The Angama Amboseli team is dedicated to crafting your perfect wedding celebration and will ensure no detail is overlooked, and no request is too small. Each wedding is completely custom, but always deeply connected to the land, the culture, and the moment.

With just 10 Guest Suites, hosting up to 20 guests, Angama Amboseli is made for intimate moments.

How We Do ‘I Do’

A soulful ceremony held out in the bush with Kilimanjaro rising above, a joyful blessing of Maasai tradition, or a quiet safari elopement where it might feel like you’re the last people on earth — whichever resonates most with your love story can be arranged.

After exchanging your vows, slip away on a private safari deeper into the Sanctuary for wedding photographs that only spectacular Africa can provide. Return to enjoy field games and cocktails with your guests and loved ones, after which you’ll take another slow bumble through Kimana, keeping an eye out for lions, en route to the Mnara for sundowners. Sip sparkling wine while watching the African sun descend, as elephants parade through the grasslands and birds of prey circle smoothly overhead. Finally, end your day with a candlelit dinner on the Guest Area lawn — quietly private or joyfully shared.

No two weddings are the same, but each includes lodge staff, facilities and the following thoughtful touches to make it feel effortless and grounded:

White chairs arranged for up to 20 guests

A non-denominational officiant to lead the ceremony

Maasai Warriors and Maidens to accompany your procession (optional but truly special)

Sparkling wine, signature cocktails and bitings* served following the ceremony

Private safari drive for wedding photographs and en route to the Mnara

Sundowners at the Mnara

A wedding reception under the stars in Angama Amboseli’s Guest Area, with candlelit tables adorned with Angama’s signature brassware

Locally-inspired menu for wedding dinner feast, prepared with love by the Amboseli Kitchen Team

Beautiful wedding flowers sourced from Nairobi

Signature Angama wedding cake available on request

Optional extra Maasai touches, including traditional beadwork, bridal attire, or blessings from a community Elder

All You Need to Know

Which Legal Documents Do I Need?

Weddings at Angama Amboseli will not be an official marriage. You are advised to be legally married in your home country before or after coming to Kenya.

How Many Guests Do We Need to Have a Wedding at Angama Amboseli?

Angama Amboseli offers weddings for up to 20 guests, accommodated in our 10 Guest Suites. Additional accommodation is available nearby for surplus guests if you wish for a larger celebration, or if you prefer a private elopement or micro-ceremony then this can be easily arranged too.

Photographer and Videographer

Angama Amboseli works with professional photographers and videographers based in Nairobi. Please contact us to discuss the options available.

Can You Work With My Wedding Planner?

Should you like to work with a wedding planner, we advise that the Angama Amboseli team have a call with them prior to the wedding to talk through our offering, and explain the logistics of a destination wedding in the bush.

What About the Wedding Cake?

The pastry team at Angama have perfected our beautiful signature wedding cake — a Persian Love Cake. This rose-scented cake is the softest chiffon with pops of cardamom and saffron cream. Rose has a very strong connection with Kenya, one of the world’s biggest rose exporters, and the spices are influenced by coastal Swahili culture and flavours. Set on a marble cake stand and adorned with fresh roses, the Angama wedding cake will be displayed in the Guest Area, awaiting the happy couple’s arrival.

Can You Source My Flowers?

As Kenya is famous for its flower production, specifically roses, Angama Amboseli uses only locally-grown flowers for weddings. A variety of blooms can be sourced on request, as well as rose petals. Certain flowers hold up to the African sun better than others, and the Angama team can guide you on the best options.

What If It Rains?

The Mnara, Guest Area or Gallery are all beautiful wet weather options that can be kept as standby venues should it rain on the day.

Can We Have Music at the Reception?

What makes a wedding out in the bush so special, is also what requires us to limit music to a small speaker until a reasonable hour. Should the full lodge be booked exclusively, however, then music may be played at your discretion.

Can You Arrange My Honeymoon?

Whether you prefer the beach, or some more time in the bush, our Angama Travel team of knowledgeable East Africa specialists are standing by to help you plan the perfect honeymoon.
