Born and raised on the Laikipia Plateau in northern Kenya, Ekai Ekalale grew up next to a small wildlife sanctuary where he once witnessed a rhino translocation. This experience sparked his lifelong passion for conservation. After studying Tour Guiding and Administration at the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya College, he joined the Mara Triangle as an intern before later landing at Angama, where he describes guiding as feeling more like fun than a job.
