The English Premier League is more than just football, it is passion, rivalry, and identity wrapped in ninety minutes of thrill. And when the 2025 EPL season kicked off, the roar of football didn’t just echo in stadiums across England, it was felt deep in the heart of the Maasai Mara.

At Angama Mara, the love for the game came alive in style thanks to General Manager Collins. He is known for his enthusiasm for the game, unshakable loyalty to Arsenal Football Club and love of reggae.

Driven by the belief that football unites people, we decided to do something different for the team and brought the magic of the EPL to the Mara. Under starlit skies, a giant screen lit up the lawn, chairs lined up, people wore jerseys of their favourite teams, and reggae beats filled the evening air, for an unforgettable evening of sport and celebration.

But the night was not only about watching football; it was about being in the presence of legends. Kenyan football legend Matthew Ottamax joined the fun. He is a former keeper for Harambee Stars, AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, and SC Villa Kampala, with eight caps for the national team. A die-hard Manchester United fan, his passion for the Red Devils was clear as he chanted and bantered. Having him there made us proud of Kenya's football history.

Mzee Toldo Qurya was there too, a voice every Kenyan football fan would recognise. Beloved by millions of Radio Jambo listeners, his sharp insights and quick humour added more flavour to the night.

Angama Mara wasn’t just a safari lodge, it felt like a mini-stadium. Every goal attempt, save, and tackle sent waves of energy through the crowd. A celebration of sport and togetherness, with reggae beats humming in the background, it was a reminder of how football brings joy, culture, and community together.

In the end, it didn’t matter who won. This night belonged to the spirit of the game, the legends who joined us, and the Angama family who came to share their love for football.
